Road Department - maintains County roadways, oversees and performs road improvements, provides snow removal, maintains water and sewer lines, County parks and parking lots, and vehicles for County departments.

High country roads are subject to closure at any time, without notice. Please be prepared for emergency conditions, carry chains and emergency supplies.

ROADS OPENED as of July 1, 2008, Blue Lakes, Burnside Lake, Forestdale, Highland Lakes, Indian Creek, Pleasant Valley, Poor Boy, Schneider Cow Camp, Silver Hill, Wolf Creek and Woods Lake.  There are no County roads closed at this time.

For information on the seasonal closure of Forestdale Road to motorized vehicles contact Carson Ranger District: 775-882-2766.  Forestdale Road opened to motorized vehicles on April 11, 2008.
