The Assistant to the Board's office is located in the County Administration Building, at 99 Water Street in Markleeville.
The Assistant to the Board's office performs the following services:
- Administration - serves as the Board of Supervisors' advisor and agent, provides the Board with objective analyses of issues on its agenda, handles media relations on behalf of the County
- Personnel - oversees employee recruitment, maintains and updates job classifications and descriptions and salary plan, maintains employees' personnel files, serves as the Board's representative in employee negotiations
- Purchasing - serves as purchasing agent for the County
- As risk manager, administers workers' compensation/liability/property and loss prevention; administers employee benefits
