Personal Emergency Backpack

Other Pages for this Department

Many people have asked us, "What can I do to prepare for a terrorist event"? There are many resources out there that can help, many of which are listed here. The good thing about preparing for a biological disaster, is the same as preparing for any other disaster: Make a Plan, Make a Kit, Stay Informed.

Recently, a friend of Alpine County came across a great idea of making personal preparedness backpacks. Here at the Alpine County Health and Human Services Department, we thought this was a great idea because it will keep your hands free, and the entire family can help carry supplies should the need arise. Even small children can carry their own clothing in the event of a disaster where you would need to get out of the area. Below is a list of things that people can keep in a personal emergency backpack. Please keep in mind, it does not make a difference what method that you use to prepare, as long as you do.
