Planning Commission
The Alpine County Planning Commission holds regular meetings on the last Thursday of each month, 6:00 p.m. at Turtle Rock Park (17300 Highway 89, Markleeville).
The five citizen members of the Commission are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Commission is an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors and exercises all of the powers and duties provided for under the laws of the State of California. This includes reviewing matters concerning growth, development and the environment of Alpine County. In this capacity, the Commission makes recommendations and/or decisions on the Alpine County General Plan, rezonings, proposed subdivisions, use permits and variances.
