The Alpine County Design Review Historic Committee meets on an as needed basis. Meetings are held at various locations with the location listed on the agenda for the meeting. Membership in the three-person Committee is set by County Ordinance and includes one representative each from the Alpine County Planning Commission, Alpine County Historical Society and an owner of property located within the Markleeville Townsite. The Committee makes recommendations on new construction and proposed signs within the Design Review Historic zoning area in downtown Markleeville with the particular intent of protecting and enhancing the historic mining period architecture the town. |

The Alpine County Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) holds regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m. at either Turtle Rock Park (17300 Highway 89, Markleeville) or the County Public Works Office (50 Diamond Valley Road, Woodfords). The committee is composed of the following County officials: Planning Director, Public Works/Transportation Director, Surveyor, Building Official, County Engineer and County Sanitarian/Environmental Health Officer. The Committee makes technical recommendations to the Planning Commission on proposed land divisions and is empowered by Alpine County Ordinance to make decisions on lot line adjustments and certain minor parcel map applications. |
