The California State Parks’ Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division administers a grant program which has provided significant funding to help the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office manage off-highway vehicle recreation in Alpine County. The Alpine County Sheriff’s Office has completed the 2017-2018 Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation grant request. The Alpine County Sheriff’s Office current grant request provides for operation and support of public safety and law enforcement efforts for numerous trails and roads located on public lands open to OHV use.
The public review and comment period for the 2017-2018 Grant and Cooperative Agreement Program will run from Monday, March 6, through Monday April 2, 2018. The public is invited to review the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office’s application at the website http://ohv.parks.ca.gov. Copies of the grant request are also available to the public at the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office, Markleeville, CA.
