County Executive Officer
The County Executive Officer (CEO) is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serves as the Executive Officer, Personnel Director, and Purchasing Agent. The CEO provides overall leadership, coordination, and direction to all non-elected departments. The CEO is responsible for overseeing daily operations, implementing Board policy, and ensuring County policies and procedures are administered effectively, efficiently, and equitably. In addition to preparing reports and recommendations, the CEO assists the Board in identifying and developing policy agendas, supports strategic planning efforts, and represents the County in regional, state, and intergovernmental matters. With a commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaboration, the CEO works to enhance organizational performance and serve the needs of Alpine County residents, employees, and stakeholders.

Personnel & Risk Management
Personnel & Risk Management safeguards the County’s most valuable resource, its people. The department oversees recruitment, classification, benefits, and labor relations while leading countywide safety, workers’ compensation, and insurance programs. By pairing proactive employee development with robust risk-mitigation strategies, it nurtures a productive workforce and protects public assets, ensuring Alpine County remains both an employer of choice and a responsible steward of public funds.

Budget & Procurement
The Director of Budget & Procurement crafts the County’s annual operating and capital budgets, merges revenue forecasts with service priorities, and monitors fiscal performance throughout the year by supporting each department with budget review, preparation and adjustments.

Economic Development
Economic Development champions the local economy by executing Alpine County’s Economic Development Strategic Plan. Works to cultivate business retention and create attraction programs, simplify regulatory pathways, market the County to stakeholders, and secure grants that expand job opportunities and broaden the tax base. By forging regional alliances and telling Alpine’s story, it helps businesses, and the community thrive.
